Overview
Take in the flora and fauna of Southern Trinidad as we make our way to the mystical village of the Merrikins, Amerindians, French Creole and East Indians, located on T&T ‘s southern coastline. Rich in history, Moruga, is home to various monuments, the Scorpion Pepper and the Cocoa and Chocolate Museum which houses a host of artifacts from historic cocoa plantations over a 100-year period.
Come see the tools that were used back in the day, the ledgers containing payroll records (written in ink) and learn the history of some of our ancestors. Moruga is noted as the area where Christopher Columbus came ashore, the Merrikin settlement, the Cocoa and Chocolate Museum among others is waiting to welcome you.
Come taste the food of some of our ancestors, Coocoo, Callaloo, Creole Rice and Roucou Chicken, as we dine on a traditional meal of Coocoo and Callaloo.
